Blessing with SB and facing forward to GSJ

We’re thrilled to officially announce that Israeli sprinting sensation Blessing Afrifah will be competing at the Grand Slam Jerusalem, taking place on August 14th at Givat Ram Stadium!

Afrifah, widely regarded as one of Israel’s most talented and exciting young athletes, will take part in the 200-meter event, where he’ll line up against some of the top sprinters from around the world.

Just this past Friday (June 21st), at the prestigious Continental Tour meet in Geneva, Blessing showcased his incredible form by finishing third in the 200m with a blazing time of 19.99 seconds. While the result won’t be officially recorded due to a wind reading of 2.3, it marks his fastest time since 2022 and is just a fraction of a second away from both his personal best and the Israeli national record – 19.96 seconds, which he set at the World U20 Championships.

This performance is not only a testament to his world-class speed but also to the effectiveness of his recent move to train in the Netherlands. The improvement in his performance suggests that Afrifah is entering a peak phase in his athletic development – and it couldn’t come at a better time.

With the home crowd behind him in Jerusalem, could we be on the verge of witnessing a new Israeli record? One thing’s for sure – you won’t want to miss it.
