After last year as the first and only international sports event held in Israel amidst challenging times—and enjoying great success—the Jerusalem Grand Slam is back this summer to Israel’s capital
Ticket sales have officially opened today (Sunday) on the “Bimot” website for the biggest international athletics event of the summer, the Grand Slam Jerusalem, taking place on August 14 at the Givat Ram Athletics Stadium. Hosted by the Israeli Athletics Association in collaboration with the Jerusalem Municipality, the prestigious competition will bring together top-tier athletes from around the globe. The event promises exciting and high-level competition, family-friendly attractions, and all of it in the crisp mountain air of Jerusalem.
Last year, welcomed around 80 athletes from 22 countries, who came to compete in a high-profile event that grants crucial points toward the European and global rankings. This year, expectations are even higher, with more international participants anticipated—ensuring an unforgettable sporting experience for fans at the stadium and viewers at home.
Grand Slam Jerusalem is a Continental Tour SILVER-level event, making it one of the most prestigious competitions recognized by both World Athletics and European Athletics, awarding significant ranking points to its participants. Following the successful hosting of the European Athletics U18 Championships in 2022, the U20 Championships in 2023, and last year’s Grand Slam, the Jerusalem organizers have received widespread praise for their professionalism—earning the city the continued honor of hosting large-scale international events.
Jerusalem is proudly establishing itself as an international sports capital, with world-class facilities that host elite competitions and support the city’s local sports clubs. Broadcasting a global sporting event live from Jerusalem to countries around the world is a tremendous source of pride—for the city, for Israel, and especially at this time.
Among the standout athletes expected to compete: Israel’s fastest man Blessing Afrifah, high jumper Yonathan Kapitolnik, national steeplechase record-holder Adva Cohen, rising middle-distance star Noam Mamu, long jump champion Romi Tamir, and many more top talents.
Tickets are affordably priced, ranging from just 30 to 65 NIS, making this international event accessible to all. Held during the summer break, it’s the perfect opportunity for families to enjoy a unique and inspiring day of world-class athletics.
Chairman of the Israel Athletics Association, Ami Baran: “I’m thrilled that once again we’ll have the honor of hosting one of the world’s most exciting and prestigious athletics events right here in Israel—and especially in Jerusalem. We’re expecting a top-quality competition with elite athletes from Europe and around the world, and a truly unforgettable sporting experience. I want to extend heartfelt thanks to Jerusalem’s Mayor, Moshe Lion, the entire municipality, the dedicated team at the Israel Athletics Association, and the staff at the Givat Ram Stadium, all of whom are working tirelessly to produce this event at the highest level. I invite everyone to come out and enjoy a day of world-class athletics this summer.”
