Accessibility Statement

An accessible website is a website that allows people with disabilities and older adults to use it efficiently and enjoy it as much as anyone else.

According to a study conducted by Microsoft in 2003, between 20 and 25 percent of the population encounter difficulties in using the Internet and may benefit from more accessible web contents.

Accessible Website Symbol

An “Accessible Website” symbol is the initiative of the non-profit organization Access Israel and the Israel Internet Association. The symbol is placed on websites adapted to the requirements to make them accessible to people with disabilities.

The purpose of placing the symbol is to promote public awareness of web accessibility and inform the website users of its accessibility.

This website meets the requirements of the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Regulations (Adaption of Accessibility to Services), 2013.

The website conforms to the Israeli Standard (SI 5568) recommendations for web content accessibility at Level AA and the recommendations of the W3Cs WCAG 2.0 document.

It has also been adapted for display on the most popular Web browsers and for use on mobile phones.

Amendments Made

Strict accessibility adaptations were made on this website, including semantic and informative implementation for assistive technologies, navigation and operation definition using a keyboard only according to the recommendations of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), color adjustment and addition of assistive symbols and instructions in forms for the benefit of all users. In addition to achieve the optimal user experience with screen reading software, we recommend using the latest NVDA software.

Some of what was done on the website

We added an assistive  WordPress compatible accessibility component (link to the component website https://purple-lens.com/ ) which enables control over font size, bypassing blocks, instructional texts for NVDA and Jaws screen readers, mouseless keyboard navigation, adjustments to adapt the website for users with a NVDA and Jaws screen reader, black and white/color contrasts, blocking animation and any moving elements on the website, and emphasizing links.

To achieve the optimal user experience with a screen reader, we recommend using the latest NVDA software.

It should be noted that despite our efforts to make our web pages accessible to everybody, attached documents (such as Word, PDF, Excel), the internal management system and video files are still in the progress of becoming accessible, which we are attempting to complete.

Site Accessibility (Givat Ram Athletics Stadium, Jerusalem)

• Address: 5 Sderot HaMuze’onim, Jerusalem
• Disabled Parking: 11 parking spaces for the disabled at Cossel Center’s carpark. Additionally, there are 4 more parking spaces for the disabled inside the stadium. The entrance is from the southern gate.
• Access routes to the building: From Cossel Center, there is an access road leading from the stadium’s northern gates to the wheelchair lift located at the main entrance, up to the grandstand on the western side’s upper level. The distance from the Cossel Center carpark to the wheelchair lift is about 100 meters.
• From the disabled parking spaces inside the stadium, there is an accessible path to the Photo-Finish elevator on floor 0. It ascends to the 1^st floor, and then one should cross the accessible bridge to the disabled seats in the gallery. The distance from the parking to the Photo-Finish elevator is about 50 meters.
• Accessible Toilets: On the 1^st floor of the grandstand. To reach the accessible toilets from the disabled seats and back, one can use the designated wheelchair lift right near these seats.
• Wide aisles: 

1. Wide passage to the gallery from the Cossel Center disabled carpark and the southern parking.
2. Wide passage on the upper-level gallery, where the disabled seats are located.
3. Wide passage at the toilets and canteen areas of the gallery.

• Directional signage:

1. From the Cossel Center disabled carpark to the wheelchair lift and disabled seats in the gallery.
2. From the disabled parking inside the stadium to the Photo-Finish elevator. From the elevator to the accessible bridge on the 1^st floor, to the disabled seats in the gallery.
3. From the disabled seats to the accessible toilets and canteen.

• Elevator: At the Photo-Finish tower, leading to the upper gallery bridge, all the way to the disabled seats.
